Hello
I am a full member of the Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation and of the Transport Planning Society with over 30 year's experience in the field of transport planning. My aim is to provide expert advice and technical support to developers, planners, architects and the public sector across a number of land use sectors, including residential, commercial, retail and infrastructure. Although based on the Isle of Wight, I work on projects not only on the Island and the South Coast but across the UK and occasionally beyond.
I am committed to offer you innovative and effective transport solutions that are perfectly tailored to your needs. Building on my vast experience in development planning, you can count on me to guide you through every step of the planning application process, with respect to all transport and highway matters. You can trust that I will be by your side at all stages of your project, ensuring your objectives are successfully achieved.

I believe in a personal touch when it comes to resolving transport planning challenges, which is why my business is dedicated to providing you with practical and sensible solutions. Developing an exceptional transport planning and access solution for your site is rarely enough - managing interactions and often conflicting expectations between clients, planning and environmental professionals and local planning and highway authorities is equally crucial.

My Story

I came to the UK from my home country of France over 30 years ago to further my civil engineering studies and graduated with a Masters in Transport Planning and Highway Engineering from the University of Leeds.
In 2013, after holding senior positions at a number of large multi-disciplinary Engineering Consultancies all over England, I founded a specialist transport planning consultancy now trading as Valérie Ballorin Transport Planning Consultant, based on the Isle of Wight, where my husband, two step-children and our dog can indulge in our love of sailing and countryside living.

Aside from the office, I enjoy a variety of hobbies from sailing of course, riding my motorbike, to gardening but enjoy nothing more than spending time training and working with my field spaniel across the amazing Island countryside. Having been a volunteer puppy parent and supporter of the Ability Dogs 4 Young People charity for many years, I also like to keep a watchful eye on the progress of the various dogs I helped look after, and lately on Amber, the chocolate labrador puppy-in-training my business sponsored in 2024.
